Eat, sleep, run, bike, swim. Repeat.

ABC's Office Manager, Trisha Stether's, is taking on a new challenge this August: The Syracuse Iron Girl Triathalon. After hitting the books at work all day, Trish somehow manages to find the time to hit the pavement by foot and by wheel, and hit the water by flipper in preparation for her upcoming 600 meter swim, 30K bike ride and 5K run (a.k.a. triathalon.) Whew - just saying that makes me tired. Trish is no rookie to the race world, however - in fact she's run a total of 15 races in the past two and a half years now. Impressive!

So what can you learn from her rigorous routine? She was generous enough to offer a few training tips that have helped her along the way:

1. Always double-knot your sneakers. It may seem obvious, but when your laces come loose, you're stuck having to stop to tie them, adding seconds or even minutes onto your race time. (Worse yet, you could trip or develop painful blisters from rubbing.)

2. Stretching is key to faster recovery. Although it might seem like a pointless waste of time before and after your workout, stretching will allow you to go further, faster during your next run as your muscles won't be debilitatingly sore.

3. Most importantly, do it because you love it. Abiding by this philosophy makes grueling training much easier. Own the pain! Deep inside, you know it strokes your confidence and gives you the ultimate feeling of accomplishment.
