Launching a New Product: Social Media Style.

ABC Creative Group teamed up with Perry's Ice Cream to help them promote their latest (and in our opinion, greatest) product: all natural gelato. In fact, the product is officially being launched today. To learn the latest on gelato, turn to social media outlets first because that's where a buzz has been steadily building over the last few weeks.   

BLOGGERS
Over the last few months, ABC has been busy behind the scenes, cultivating relationships with select bloggers who have readers that Perry's wants to reach. Some bloggers are focused solely on ice cream, others on Western and Central New York food and dining, and others are women-focused (while we respect male ice cream eaters, ice cream consumers skew female!). A media-rich social media press release was emailed to this highly targeted list of bloggers for free use at their blogs. The great thing about the blogosphere is that well-written posts and interesting topics spread like wildfire. One blogger had her post on Perry's Gelato picked up by another site, Zimbio, so Perry's benefits from double exposure!  

FACEBOOK
ABC harnessed the power of the Facebook tab for Perry's and created a customized landing page devoted to gelato. Last week, when new visitors went to Perry's Facebook page, they land on this gelato tab. In addition, ABC has uploaded custom, web-optimized videos to the Facebook page and compiled a series of "conversation starters" that Perry's utilized in their status updates to get fans talking. A highly targeted Facebook ad buy and a "Pint-a-Day" Giveway continued to build a buzz. Each day last week, Perry’s asked their Facebook fans a gelato-related question. Then, from the respondents, Perry’s randomly selected a winner to receive free gelato. Their fan base grew 10% over the last week! The benefit to Perry’s is that they now have additional customers to interact with, and they have shared news of a new product with their existing customers in an engaging, exciting manner.
