Handling a statewide voter registration drive

ABC recently developed a campaign to promote voter registration to volunteer firefighters in New York State.

By developing a microsite directed at the fire service, www.firefightersvote.com, we hope to engage volunteer firefighters and entice them to register. The website portion of this campaign allows individuals to download a voter registration form and will serve as the main focus of the campaign.

Some other items developed to spread the word include large format graphics, posters, and press coverage provided by our friends at Dan Klores Communications in New York City.

We are also using digital and social media to promote this important message including e-communications, Facebook, Twitter and partner websites.

This message will be promoted by three of the state’s largest entities in the fire service, the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York, The New York State Fire Chiefs and the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York. Although the management of this project was multifaceted and involved several different parties, we were able to cultivate an effective campaign in a very short period of time.

Currently, it is imperative that everyone be involved with the political process, especially in New York State, and we are happy to be promoting that right to the men and women of the fire service.
